Dr. Edward Dickerson is not only dedicated to his profession, but he enjoys spending time with his family and serving FSU through his seat on the Board of Trustees as well. He serves as Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee as well as taking an active role in the Audit, Business and Finance, and Trustee Liaisons to Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committees.
Dr. D was recently interviewed to talk about his background, interests, family life, and why he loves to serve FSU.

Where are you from? New York
What is your occupation? Medical Director and Owner of Fayetteville Plastic Surgery and Cape Fear Aesthetics MedSpa, I am a Double Board certified Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon
How did you end up in Fayetteville? I served as the 2nd Brigade Surgeon of the 325 Airborne Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and trained in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at Brooke Army Medical Center. Later, I landed Chief of Staff of OHNS at Womack Army Medical Center, earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and earned numerous awards including the Meritorious Service Award, Two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Army Commendation Medal.

How long have you been a member of the Board of Trustees? 4 years
What do you like most about serving on the Board of Trustees? I love being able to give back to the community and it’s important for me to be able to play a pivotal role in laying the foundation for the future

Tell us about your family. Even though I stay busy at my practice. I am a father and husband 24 hours a day. I have two daughters and one son with my lovely wife Andrea. Family is the most important thing in my life and I play a very active parenting role at home, supporting my son at sporting events and playing pageant dad with my daughters.
What do you like doing in your spare time? When I’m not working at my practice I am traveling to meet with other specialists in the aesthetics industry and working on creating new products. It’s important for me to stay up to date on the most advanced solutions for my clients.
